Kanpur: In a bizarre act, a 20-year-old woman bit off a portion of her former lover’s tongue after he tried to forcibly kiss her at a secluded spot in a Kanpur village on Tuesday. The 35-year-old man is married and is said to have been involved in an affair with the woman. However, the woman’s family recently arranged her marriage elsewhere, prompting her to end contact with the man. On Tuesday, when she went to the fields to collect soil, her ex-lover followed her and tried to force a kiss. The woman, who is said to have bitten his tongue in self-defence, returned home and informed her family members, who filed a complaint with the Bilhaur police. Inspector Ashok Kumar said that the woman’s family had warned the man to stop trying to meet her, multiple times before, but he did not heed them. “And on Tuesday, he repeated the same act,” said Kumar. The man, meanwhile, was taken to a local hospital. However, since his condition worsened, he was referred to Kanpur for further treatment.
