UP govt promotes beekeeping to boost farmers’ income: Min

Lucknow: Highlighting the benefits of beekeeping in crop pollination, environmental balance, and self-employment in horticulture, minister of state Dinesh Pratap Singh announced that farmers are being encouraged to adopt beekeeping, with a 40% subsidy being offered to support the initiative.To promote scientific beekeeping, the department of horticulture and food processing is organising a free three-month training programme from Sept 16 to Dec 15 at centres in Saharanpur, Basti, and Prayagraj. Applicants must have passed Class 8 and will need to arrange their own stay and meals. The last date to apply is Sept 16. A character certificate from two respectable individuals or a gazetted officer is also required.
