Two victims battling for life at KGMU

Lucknow: Two teenagers injured in the Behta firecracker blast are fighting for their lives at King George’s Medical University (KGMU). Both have been shifted to the Burn ICU under the department of plastic and reconstructive surgery.Doctors said Irshad, 19, suffered 90–95% burns. He is on oxygen support and is being stabilised with hydration and antibiotics. “His condition remains extremely critical, but resuscitation is underway,” a senior doctor said. Nadeem, 17, who sustained 40–45% burns along with a head injury, is also in critical condition. He is receiving fluids, antibiotics, and oxygen support. Specialists are keeping him under round-the-clock monitoring. “The next 48 hours are crucial for both patients,” a KGMU doctor added.
