DC orders road repairs, end to open dumping | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob on Monday directed officials to ensure the immediate patch repair of pothole-ridden roads, halt open dumping of garbage and increase drain cleaning efforts to address waterlogging and vector-borne diseases.During a review meeting, Jacob directed officials that road repairs must be taken up on priority and a list of stretches needing major work should be drawn up immediately. She said damaged and defunct streetlights on main roads must be fixed within 48 hours of complaints. She instructed that sweeping of main roads should be carried out between 5am and 10am with additional deployment of tricycles, tipper machines and manpower. Garbage must only be disposed of in RC bins and covered with tin sheds. Jacob also ordered regular fogging and anti-larva spraying, stressing that bleaching powder should be used during drain cleaning to check mosquito breeding.Officials told DC that seven projects under phase 1 of the CM Grid scheme, covering 16 km, will be completed by Jan 2026. Three roads in phase 2 are ready for construction while proposals for three more in phase 3 have been cleared. Municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar, additional commissioners Lalit Kumar and Arvind Rao, and departmental officers attended the meeting.
