Life of poet Kalidas discussed | Lucknow News
Lucknow: A programme on the life and works of the great poet Kalidas was organised by the Sanskrit department at Karamat Husain Muslim Girls’ PG College on Monday.The event, titled, ‘Vangmaya Tarangini’ was held under the patronage of the college manager, Syed Naved Ahmad, and principal, Prof Huma Khwaja. Chief Guest Prof Ram Sumer Yadav, former head of the department of Sanskrit at Lucknow University, delivered an insightful lecture on Kalidas. The co-guest was Mamta Yadav, a Hindi teacher at Rajkiya Sarvodaya Kanya Varishtha Vidyalaya, Dwarka, New Delhi. Under the guidance of Nagma Sultan, head of the Sanskrit department, various cultural programmes were organised, including Shloka recitation contest, dance, singing, group songs, poster and slogan competitions, as well as speech. Kusum, a student who scored the highest marks in Sanskrit, was awarded a medal.
