Headmaster held for attacking BSA with belt

Lucknow: A headmaster was arrested for allegedly attacking the basic shiksha adihkari (BSA) with a belt following an argument in Sitapur on Tuesday evening.A 33-second video of the incident also went viral on social media.The accused, headmaster of a primary school in Sitapur, reached the BSA office to present his clarification regarding complaints lodged by a woman teacher. According to eyewitnesses, the BSA was dissatisfied with the headmaster’s explanation, which led to a heated exchange.In a sudden outburst, the headmaster allegedly slammed a file on the BSA’s desk, pulled out his belt, and hit him multiple times. He also allegedly tore govt records and scuffled with a clerk.Police took the headmaster in their custody.Station in-charge Anup Shukla said that based on the BSA’s complaint and preliminary findings, further legal action would be initiated.
