Dedicate medals to mother: Guv to AKTU passouts | Lucknow News



Lucknow: Chancellor and Governor Anandiben Patel asked meritorious students of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University to dedicate their medals to their mothers, as their contribution in success was highest. During the university’s convocation, she asked students to work for development of nation and society as she awarded degrees digitally. For first time, AKTU implemented blockchain technology to generate degrees and mark sheets to create and validate academic credentials through a secure computerised database, preventing unauthorised alteration. The Governor provided 300 Anganwadi and health kits to encourage Anganwadi centres of Sitapur district. “Convocation is a milestone in journey of an institution, a day of pride and unforgettable moment in life of students,” said Patel. She said education was not just process of obtaining a degree, it was a lamp of responsibility illuminating life of every student and nation and an occasion for introspection and resolution for students to use their acquired knowledge in national interest to make it prominent on global stage. She told students about a new responsibility infused with the degree, which was not just a symbol of personal success, but a messenger of hope for society and country. “Objective of education and science should not be only to acquire knowledge, but to serve humanity, innovate and uplift the nation,” she said.She said 70 per cent degrees went to boys and 30 per cent to girls, indicating that participation of girls in technical field was relatively less and appealed to girl students to come forward in field of science and technology. Referring to presence of Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, governor said his life was an example of achieving goals with strong determination and high thinking.
