Yogi reviews progress of Noida airport

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday carried out a detailed on-site inspection of the under-construction Noida International Airport at Jewar.During the visit, the CM reviewed real-time progress on key components, including the terminal building, inauguration venue, security systems, traffic arrangements, and ongoing construction activities.Calling the airport a “new identity of Uttar Pradesh’s development”, Yogi stressed that quality, timely execution, and inter-departmental coordination must remain top priorities for this flagship project. Officials informed him that the airport is yet to receive its aerodrome licence.The CM directed authorities to complete all pending security compliances immediately in coordination with the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and CISF, and expedite the process for final security clearance. “This is one of the state’s most ambitious projects. Any pending work, especially related to security, must be completed swiftly,” he said.Following the inspection, the CM held a meeting with Union civil aviation minister K Rammohan Naidu, senior officials from the Civil Aviation Ministry, DGCA, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, CISF, Airport Authority of India, NIAL, district administration, police and the construction agency. This is the second time in just over a month that Adityanath has reviewed the project. On Oct 25, he inspected development works and held a presentation-based review with district and airport officials.The Noida International Airport, coming up in Jewar under a public-private partnership model, is being developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG. The first phase spans around 1,300 hectares.
