Word ‘secular’ was inserted stealthily into Constitution: CM

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath once again reiterated that the word ‘secular’ was “inserted stealthily” into Babasaheb BR Ambedkar’s Constitution. The CM made this observation while speaking at the Prabuddha Jan Samvad Sangam programme organised at Bhurkura Siddh Peeth in Ghazipur on Saturday.Elaborating on the traditions of Sanatan Dharma, the CM said that it was never rigid on the methods of worship, but the world failed to understand the difference between dharma, or righteous duty, and panth, or religious sect. For instance, he said, “We never said that only those who go to temples are Hindus and those who don’t are not. Our tradition embraces everyone. Sant Ramanand said, ‘Jaati paati poochhe na koi, Hari ko bhaje so Hari ka hoi’.”He further detailed his plans to make UP a developed state, where people have jobs, houses, water in every field, and security for citizens. This development would help UP become a leading force in India. During the event, the CM unveiled a statue of Ramashray Das Ji Maharaj at Bhurkuda Siddh Peeth. Calling him a source of inspiration for generations, the CM said that Bhurkura Siddh Peeth is connected with Indian spiritual tradition, especially the Satnami sect. He also interacted with Peethadhishwar Pujya Sant Shri Shatrughna Das Ji Maharaj, members of the college family, and local residents.Speaking on Ghazipur’s historical and spiritual heritage, the CM gave the example of the relationship between Maharishi Vishwamitra and Lord Ram. As a tribute to them, the Maharishi Vishwamitra Government Medical College, based on tradition and knowledge, was established in Ghazipur.“It is necessary to connect traditional spiritual knowledge with knowledge. Teachers and students should work in the direction of education and development while maintaining discipline and reverence towards gurus and seers. It is necessary to connect traditional spiritual knowledge with modern knowledge so that society and the nation can prosper,” he said.
