Lucknow: An elderly couple in the Krishnanagar area have accused their daughter-in-law of assaulting and forcibly evicted them from their home.According to the police complaint, she bit the father-in-law’s thumb and banged his head against a wall. The couple, fearing for their safety, has since taken shelter in a rented house. The couple claimed this was not an isolated incident, but the culmination of a pattern of verbal and physical abuse that was ongoing for months. The accused allegedly declared that the house belonged to her and her husband, ordering the elderly couple to vacate immediately. SHO, Krishnanagar, PK Singh, said that an FIR has been registered under relevant sections. Officials said that measures were being taken to ensure the couple’s safety and to prevent any further harassment. TNN
