Bahraich: A wolf carried away a 3-year-old girl in Bahraich who was playing outside her house. Hearing her screams, villagers rushed to the spot and chased the animal, but it entered a sugarcane field and disappeared. Police officials and forest team reached the spot and started a massive search operation. The entire area is being scanned with drones. According to reports, Santosh, a resident of Lodhan Purwa in Godhiya no. 3 village, under Kaiserganj police station area, said his 3-year-old daughter Jahnavi was playing in front of the house around 10am on Thursday when suddenly a wolf appeared and grabbed her in its jaws before running away. On receiving information, Ranger Omkar Yadav reached the spot with his team. Villagers said the wild animal that carried away the child could be either a wolf or a leopard, as large paw marks have been found in the fields. Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Ram Singh Yadav said that the team is present at the site and efforts are underway to locate the missing girl.
