NEW DELHI: BJP on Monday criticised Congress over its ‘vote chori’ allegation and claimed that Congress leader Sonia Gandhi was on the electoral roll in 1980, three years before she became an Indian citizen in 1983.Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s voter fraud charge, BJP MP and Union minister Anurag Thakur, in a press conference, counter-accused Congress of committing election fraud in constituencies it had won.Quoting in Hindi, Thakur remarked, “The dust was on your face, yet you kept cleaning the mirror,” implying that Congress was avoiding self-reflection. He also alleged that the party had followed this pattern since 1952, when it joined hands with the CPI to defeat BR Ambedkar.
