Raipur: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable allegedly died by suicide on Monday morning at the force’s 231st Battalion headquarters in the Jawanga area of Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district.Officials identified the deceased as constable Jasveer Singh, 46, a native of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He was found hanging inside the washerman’s shop within the battalion campus under the Geedam police station limits.“The matter is under investigation. A team has been formed to determine the circumstances that led to this extreme step,” a senior police officer said.Preliminary reports suggest no foul play, but officials have not ruled out stress-related factors.With Singh’s death, eight security personnel—including four from the CRPF— have allegedly died by suicide in Chhattisgarh over the past three months, according to police records.
