UPRERA orders Gr Noida builder to pay delay interest to buyers | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Taking a stern view of alleged irregularities in a Greater Noida housing project, the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Appellate Tribunal has directed the promoter of a residential cluster in Sector-27 to pay delay interest to homebuyers within 45 days and refund amounts collected in the name of a master club and golf course. The order was passed by a bench of Justice Suneet Kumar (chairperson) and Rameshwar Singh (administrative member), while dismissing appeals filed by AR Landcraft LLP, the promoter of the Godrej Crest residential cluster under the 100-acre Godrej Golf Links township. The appeals challenged a UP RERA order dated March 7, 2024.The tribunal also directed the promoter to execute a correction deed to incorporate missing mandatory details in the registered tripartite sub-lease deed. In addition, the builder has been ordered to pay Rs 50,000 as litigation cost to each respondent within 45 days. The tribunal asked the state govt to examine whether the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) violated the Recreational Entertainment Park (REP) scheme and building regulations to favour the promoter. UP RERA has been directed to consider penal action. The tribunal observed that the promoter engaged in fraudulent, unfair and misleading practices from the project’s inception, misleading buyers over ownership, optional club and golf charges, and collecting nearly Rs100 crore through such fees.Reacting to the order, a Godrej Group spokesperson said the company was surprised by the findings and would consider challenging the order after detailed legal review.
