Lucknow: Lauding UP‘s efforts in organising the grand UPITS 2025, Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said the event serves as a model that can be replicated across other states.Speaking on the second day of the event, Manjhi said, “The UP govt’s way of promoting MSMEs in every district through UPITS is remarkable. Such initiatives can grow across all states.” He added that events like UPITS would not only give wider recognition to MSMEs but also benefit people on a large scale by generating employment opportunities. “The event is a temple of opportunity for entrepreneurs,” he remarked. The second day witnessed a record footfall of nearly 92,000 visitors. An official spokesperson said the visitors included 23,758 B2B participants and 67,501 B2C visitors. With this, the total footfall crossed the 1.40 lakh mark. Meanwhile, UP’s Minister for MSME, Khadi and Village Industries, Sericulture, Textiles and Handloom, Rakesh Sachan, assured full support to those willing to become job creators instead of job seekers. The day also saw the department of urban development discuss strategies for sustainable urban growth, the department of medical health and family welfare conducting a workshop on Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (PMJAY), the department of IT and Electronics holding a session on the state’s transformation from being a Manufacturing Hub to a Global Electronics Leader, and the department of agriculture organising a session on Cultivating Prosperity—empowering Farmers for a Self-Reliant UP, besides other things. According to an official spokesperson, the day was packed with productive activities and engagements, including the Russia–India Business Dialogue, a highlight of Russia’s participation as the Partner Country. A focused B2B meeting on the Russia–India Business Dialogue was successfully convened on the sidelines of UPITS 2025. The dialogue saw robust participation from more than 85 companies, facilitating over 240 targeted B2B meetings within just three hours. Thirty Russian companies representing a wide spectrum of sectors engaged with Indian counterparts to explore trade and investment opportunities, forge strategic partnerships, and deepen bilateral cooperation. In addition, a total of 187 B2B meetings were conducted, resulting in the signing of approximately 120 MoUs valued at around USD 5.6 million, said additional director general of FIEO, Suvidh Shah. Chairman of India Exposition Mart Limited, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, observed that the Partner Country initiative reflects the rising stature of UPITS as a premier global trade platform. “Russia’s participation will deepen economic engagement between the two countries and create fresh opportunities in technology, infrastructure, and manufacturing,” he said. There were three school competitions also held, including a Quiz, MIME, and a Model of United Nations discussion, which were also held with the participation of a total of 362 students. Beyond trade and policy dialogue, the cultural vibrancy of Uttar Pradesh illuminated the evening.
