‘UP to have 15-20 decacorns by 2047’ | Lucknow News

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that Uttar Pradesh is expected to have 15-20 decacorns (companies worth over USD 10 billion) by 2047. “With constant efforts and monitoring being done at the highest level to promote artificial technology and latest IT modules, the state govt has prepared a roadmap to overcome hurdles that crop on the way,” a govt spokesperson said.“Under the leadership of Yogi, the state took concrete steps toward becoming a new technology hub, overcoming the challenges faced before 2017. CM Yogi envisions that by 2047, UP would be home to strong companies focused on advanced technologies such as IT, AI, and deep tech,” he said. “Before 2017, there were no concrete policy initiatives or major vision for the IT and digital sectors in the state. Software exports and digital infrastructure were limited. Initiatives like data centres existed only on paper and the state lagged in the technology race. After 2017, with the efforts of the Yogi govt, India’s first data centre in North India was established in Gautam Budh Nagar,” a senior officer said.“As a part of the short-term plan, AI cities will be developed in Lucknow and Kanpur by 2030. NCR, Lucknow and Noida are poised to shape up as global capability centres (GCC) hubs. Incubation centres will be established in every division and new startups (valued at USD 1 billion) will be promoted,” he said. “The govt aims to have at least 20 unicorn startups ready by 2030. In collaboration with ISRO, satellite launches will be used to revolutionise disaster management and weather forecasting. Software exports will also be increased fivefold,” he added.“For medium- and long-term plan, Uttar Pradesh aims to become a global leader in AI, quantum computing and blockchain technology. The goal is to train 100% of the state’s youth in industry-based skills and prepare a globally skilled workforce of over four crore people. The govt also plans upgrade five educational institutions,” he said.
