UP Pro Handball League trophy unveiled | Lucknow News



Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Handball Association unveiled the UP Pro Handball League trophy on Friday. Former vice-captain of the Indian team, Naveen Poonia, has been appointed as the brand ambassador of the league. He also launched the league’s theme song. At the event, secretary general of the South Asian Handball Federation, Anandeshwar Pandey, felicitated 20 national players. Among those present were Handball Association of India treasurer Vinay Kumar Singh, coach Sachin Chaudhary, and senior vice-presidents Abhijit Sarkar and Rani Singh. Director of the league, Amit Pandey, announced that the league, featuring eight teams and a total of 39 matches, will kick off on Dec 25 at the KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium.The Teams: Meerut Rowdies, Aligarh Warriors, Kashi Rudras, Lucknow Leopards, Ghazibad Thunders, Ayodhya Rakshak, Noida Blasters and Agra Titans. Golf tourney The seventh event of the 2025 PGTI NEXGEN season will be played at Lucknow Golf Club from September 9. The tournament, which offers a prize purse of Rs 20 lakh, will feature 72 professionals, including Sanjeev Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Bhoop Singh, and Ashish Kumar Gupta from Lucknow. Appointed Tanmay Srivastava of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association has been appointed as the umpire for the upcoming India ‘A’ vs Australia ‘A’ series, featuring three ODIs scheduled between Sept 16 and Oct 5. Alongside him, SP Singh, AP Singh, Akhilesh Tripathi, Vikas Pandey, Ramji Tiwari, and Prashant Chaturvedi have been named official scorers for the two multi-day matches at Ekana Stadium and the three ODIs at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur.
