UP government drops caste tags in police records | Lucknow News
LUCKNOW: Days after Allahabad high court (HC) directed putting an end to “caste glorification”, terming it “anti-national”, Uttar Pradesh government has ordered immediate removal of all caste references in police records and public sphere.Govt has also banned caste-based rallies in the state. The use of caste stickers and slogans on vehicles and caste names on signboards to earmark villages and towns have been prohibited, too.
