Travel agent killed by chain-snatchers

Lucknow: A travel agency owner was killed by chain snatchers near No. 4 crossing in Gudamba area on Saturday. The deceased Atul Kumar Jain (40) of Jankipuram Garden, was heading home on his scooter when two bike-borne miscreants snatched his gold chain. Jain chased the robbers and as they reached No. 4 crossing, the robbers kicked his scooter, causing him to skid. Jain collided with a pole, sustaining head injuries. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead.Eyewitnesses and CCTV footage confirm that the sequence of events, from the snatching to the fatal collision, was captured on camera. DCP (East) Shashank Singh stated that the family filed a complaint regarding the accident, and an FIR was registered. However, relatives have now raised serious allegations regarding the circumstances of the incident, prompting the police to constitute three teams to investigate thoroughly. All available CCTV footage is being scrutinised to identify and apprehend the culprits.Police have appealed to anyone with information about the attackers or the incident to come forward. The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officials assured stringent action against those responsible for the tragic death.
