Transgenders attack RPF cop at Deoria stn | Lucknow News
Lucknow: A Railway Protection Force (RPF) inspector was attacked by a group of transgenders and their associates at Deoria railway station late on Sunday. The RPF inspector along with his team had reached platform No. 1 after getting a complaint that transgenders had been harassing a passenger.Government Railway Police (GRP) said the transgenders and their associates turned violent and attacked the RPF inspector and chased away other members of his team. A video of the incident went viral on social media on Monday. SHO Aash Mohammad of RPF Deoria said the team had responded to a passenger complaint about harassment and extortion by some transgender individuals. Two accused have been nabbed while others are on the run. GRP Deoria filed an FIR under BNS, charging the group under Sections 191(2) for rioting with deadly weapons, 115(2) for causing hurt, 121(1) for attacking public servants, 132 for assault to obstruct duty, 308 for attempted culpable homicide, 324 for mischief, and 352 for provoking unrest through intentional insults.
