Three booked for pharmacy student’s death | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Following a court order, police on Friday registered an FIR against a girl, a hotel owner, and his staff in connection with the murder of 20-year-old pharmacy student Sachin Kumar Yadav, whose body was found hanging inside a hotel room in Lucknow’s Naka area on Aug 17 last year.Naka inspector Shrikant Rai said Sachin, originally from Azamgarh, was staying with his uncle in the Takrohi area. On the morning of Aug 17, he checked into a hotel in Pandariba along with a girl. Around 1:30 pm, the girl informed hotel manager that “Sachin did something to himself.” When the staff entered the room, they found his body hanging from the ceiling fan with a bedsheet. The student’s father alleged that his son was being blackmailed and extorted for money by the girl. He claimed the accused drove his son to death and that, despite his repeated complaints, police initially refused to register a murder case. Left with no option, he approached the court, which ordered the FIR to be lodged. Naka police booked the accused under sections related to murder and extortion. Inspector Rai, however, stated that the postmortem report clearly indicated suicide. “The father’s allegations are being thoroughly investigated,” he said.
