Lucknow: A thief was apprehended while attempting to steal from a residence near VVIP Dalibagh colony in the early hours of Sunday. The accused, Pankaj Kumar, entered a house in Hydel Field Hostel area and made good with a mobile phone, earbuds and a charger. He donned a neighbor’s T-shirt and attempted to flee unnoticed but he caught the attention of residents who handed him to police. Inspector Vikram Singh of Hazratganj confirmed a case had been registered against the accused. He said he hailed from Manpur village of BKT and stayed in a rented room in Jiamau. He works at a hookah parlor in Alambagh’s Nehriya area. He named an acquaintance, Rahul Chaurasia from Gonda, with whom he occasionally consumed cannabis. tnn
