Sindhis demand devpt board for needy members

Lucknow: The Sindhi community, widely recognised as peace-loving and industrious, still includes a section that struggles with poverty, lack of education and limited access to employment. For their uplift, the formation of a development board is essential to bridge these gaps and enable even the most marginalised in the community, said Ashok Anshwani, president, Sindhi Sabha.Anshwani praised efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for working for the uplift of the marginalised communities in India. He said that a large-scale event marking Partition Remembrance Day will be held on Aug 14 in Kanpur with participation expected from Sindhi representatives across the country.He said, “The occasion is not just to commemorate the trauma of Partition, but also to highlight the ongoing challenges faced by refugees and their descendants.” He also pointed out that the Sindhi community continues to make valuable contributions to national development.
