Lucknow: A swashbuckling unbeaten 88-run knock by Siddharth Yadav guided Gorakhpur Lions to a seven-wicket win over Lucknow Falcons in a thrilling UP T20 League match at Ekana Stadium on Friday.Batting first, Lucknow Falcons posted a challenging total of 182 for the loss of eight wickets, powered by Aaradhya Yadav’s smashing 68 off 47 balls, which included four towering sixes and five boundaries. Aaradhya added 123 runs with Kritagya Singh, who scored a quickfire 70 off 38 balls. Chasing 182, Gorakhpur Lions got off to a good start with skipper Dhruv Jurel (29) and Aryan Juyal (26) putting up 53 runs before Jurel was caught by Kishan off Vipraj in the 7th over. Aryan too was trapped leg-before by Bajwa in the very next over. After that, Akshdeep Nath (32) and Siddharth (88*) added 96 runs to keep the team in the hunt. Siddharth smashed three sixes and a boundary in the last over to seal the win for his team with one ball to spare. Earlier, Noida Kings defeated Kanpur Superstars by four wickets to clinch their second win of the tournament in a low-scoring affair. It was the Kanpur Superstars’ fourth straight defeat. Batting first, the Superstars were bundled out for a paltry 110 in 19.3 overs, with Faiz Ahmed (46) playing a lone hand. In reply, Noida Kings also started poorly but managed to chase down the target in 18.4 overs for the loss of six wickets.
