Scolded for coming home drunk, youth ends life | Lucknow News
Lucknow: A young man ended his life in Sarojininagar, on Saturday. The deceased was Virendra Kumar (24), resident of Gauri Vihar, employed at an electronics shop on Kanpur Road.Virendra returned home drunk from his friend’s birthday party on Friday night, for which, his mother, Sunita, scolded him. He went to his room and shut himself inside. When his father, Shivraj, an MNC employee, looked through the window, he found Virendra hanging from the ceiling fan. The family broke the door latch, brought him down and took him to Sarojininagar community health centre, where doctors declared him dead.“Police sent the body for postmortem. Initial investigation revealed the deceased was a drug addict and took the extreme step under influence of alcohol. Police are investigating the case,” said Sarojininagar ACP Vikas Pandey.
