‘Sacrifices of Sikh Gurus to protect religion, nation inspiring generations’ | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Welcoming the sacred ‘Joda Sahib’ of the Charan Suhave Guru Charan Yatra at Yahiyaganj gurdwara on Tuesday morning, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the contribution of Sikh Gurus to India’s eternal heritage is unforgettable. The yatra is associated with the Joda Sahib of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, and Mata Sahib Kaur.“The Guru tradition gave India not only faith but also the ideals of service, sacrifice, and national security. It is our collective duty to preserve this spiritual heritage and pass it on to future generations as an inspiration,” Yogi said.In the presence of Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri, the CM listened to ‘Gurbani’ and honoured the members participating in the ‘yatra’ by tying turbans on their heads.“Jithe jaaye bahey mera Satguru, so thaan suhava Ram raje (wherever the holy feet of the Guru rest, that place becomes as sacred as Ram Rajya),” the CM said, adding that the ‘yatra’ reconnects people with the tradition of Gurus, which gave a new direction to the idea of culture, courage, and sacrifice in India.“The ‘yatra’ began on the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Maharaj. It is not only a spiritual journey but a moving tribute to renunciation, sacrifice, and devotion to the nation. The contribution of Sikh Gurus to India is unforgettable. From Guru Nanak Dev Ji to Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj and his four Sahibzadas, their supreme sacrifices to protect religion, humanity, and the nation continue to inspire generations,” he said.“The ‘yatra’ begins from Delhi but its impact can be felt across the country. Yahiyaganj gurdwara in Lucknow holds special significance as it is associated with Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. “It is a matter of joy that the nearly 250-year-old footprints of Guru Maharaj, which went to Pakistan at the time of Partition, are now being enshrined at Patna Sahib,” he said. The CM urged people to preserve the rich heritage of Guru tradition and draw inspiration from it. “The yatra is not just a remembrance of the past, but a guiding light for the present and future. All devotees should carry forward this message of national unity and spiritual awakening,” he said.
