Rajnath hails NDA’s Bihar win, vows to repeat success in UP | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday expressed delight over the NDA’s landslide victory and BJP’s strong performance in the Bihar Assembly elections and said the people voted the alliance back to power as there was no corruption.“The people of Bihar have seen a corruption-free govt under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership and entrusted us with power again. This time, the NDA has received a massive mandate,” Singh said and added that the Bihar model will be replicated in Uttar Pradesh in 2027. He said this while addressing senior party workers and intellectuals at a dialogue session held in Sadar Cantonment. “Bihar results mark a significant shift in Indian politics, achieved through the hard work and dedication of party workers. BJP does not indulge in caste or religion-based politics like other parties, but focuses on national security, cultural pride and development,” he said. He highlighted the progress in Bihar under Nitish Kumar’s leadership and India’s growing global stature. Rajnath asserted that corruption cannot be eradicated through speeches but by systemic reforms, citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives like Jan Dhan accounts and UPI transactions, which ensure direct benefit transfers and transparency. “Earlier, 40-45% of funds were lost to corruption. Today, every rupee reaches the beneficiary,” he noted, adding that India now leads the world in UPI transactions. The Lucknow MP also spoke about India’s defence achievements, mentioning that the BrahMos missile, which played a key role in Operation Sindoor, is manufactured in Lucknow. He reiterated the govt’s commitment to making India a developed nation. During the interaction, participants raised issues like GST simplification, development packages for Cantonment areas, and infrastructure improvements. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak listed development works in the Cantonment constituency and thanked Rajnath for his support.
