‘Political tourism’: Min slams Rahul | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Social welfare minister Asim Arun attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, terming his visit nothing more than political tourism. The minister said this was not a caste-based crime. “The incident in Fatehpur was extremely tragic and sensitive, but linking it to caste was unfortunate,” he said, stressing that the accused included people who did not know the victim’s caste. “Rahul is unsuccessfully trying to give it a caste-based twist,” he said. Arun said that Gandhi was engaged in tear-shedding politics. “The truth is that the family did not agree to meet him,” he said. He said CM Yogi Adityanath took the murder of Hariom very seriously and ensured swift justice and assistance to the victim’s family. TNN
