AYODHYA: Ayodhya witnessed a landmark moment today as Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted a grand saffron flag atop the Ram Temple, formally marking the completion of the iconic shrine nearly 22 months after the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol. The ceremony coincided with Vivah Panchami, the auspicious day commemorating the divine marriage of Lord Ram and Sita.Read more: PM Modi Ayodhya Ram Temple Flag Hoisting LiveThe right-angled saffron flag, measuring 10 feet by 20 feet and bearing the Sun, ‘Om’, and the Kovidara tree, was unfurled amid resounding chants of “Jai Shri Ram”. The flag, symbolising the brilliance, valour, and divinity associated with Lord Ram, now flies proudly above the sanctum, marking a historic milestone in the temple’s journey.The flag is atop a ‘shikhar’ built in the traditional Nagara architectural style.The ceremony is taking place on the auspicious Panchami of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Margashirsha, coinciding with the Abhijit Muhurat of Ram and Sita’s Vivah Panchami, a day signifying divine union, the prime minister’s office said in a statement on Monday.
