Lucknow: Patrons enjoyed a blend of satire, emotion and contemporary action in writer Gyandev Agnihotri’s play ‘Shuturmurg’, directed by Prafull Tripathi at Bhatkhande on Saturday. Organised as part of a 45-day Theatre Arts Workshop, the play explores how people willingly overlook pressing social issues and choosing convenience over responsibility. Projection of individuals who avoid confronting uncomfortable truths, much like an ostrich burying its head in the sand, was presented in a refreshing and contemporary format that resonates strongly with youth, of which the audience largely comprised.
