Lucknow: A play ‘The Pillars of Society’ staged at Bhartendu Natya Academy on Tuesday, exposing the hidden hypocrisies of the ruling class.The play, originally written by a Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, was translated and directed by Asif Ali. The plot revolves around a respectable entrepreneur Consul Karsten Bernick who is seen as an honest man by the society. The play takes a twist when two people from his past expose his true nature. Main characters were played by Karsten Bernick (Akash Kumar), Johan Tonnesen (Toko Telyi) and Lona Hessel (Nandini Singh). TNN
