PGI turns pink for breast cancer cause | Lucknow News



Lucknow: SGPGIMS turned pink on Sunday, uniting doctors, staff, students and families in a vibrant walkathon and Pink Ball Cricket League to spread the life-saving message of early breast cancer detection. The event marked Oct as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the walkathon started from the SGPGI cricket ground and ended at the main hospital entrance. Participants wore pink T-shirts and caps, carrying placards highlighting the importance of breast self-examination and early detection. “The walk symbolised community care and the collective effort needed to fight breast cancer,” said director Prof R K Dhiman.The evening continued with the Pink Ball Cricket Mini League at the SGPGI cricket ground, decorated with pink balloons and ribbons. Four teams — Halsted Directors’ XI, Audretsch Deans’ XI, Clough CMS’ XI, and Veronesi Endocrine Surgery XI — played in a friendly and energetic match.
