PGI critical care dept to celebrate foundation day with learning | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Various academic activities will mark foundation day celebrations of SGPGI’s Department of Critical Care Medicine, which are due to begin on Wednesday. An official spokesperson said, “The lineup includes skill enhancement training, three-day mock exam to groom ICU trainees into successful specialists and a one-day workshop for paediatricians to help understand mechanical ventilators and their clinical use.” Two other one-day programmes, separately for critical care physicians and nurses will be held to update advancements in specialty. Students from more than 10 premier institutes across the country would be participating.Organising chairpersons Prof Banani Poddar, Prof Afzal Azim and organising secretary Prof Mohan Gurjar said these events were aimed at enhancing knowledge and skills of all cadres of critical care manpower.Recent updates in critical care will also be discussed and special focus on improving interpersonal communication, communication with patients’ families and ethical issues will be dealt with in detail.
