She revealed how even after delivering performances, she was never approached for a movie as the first choice. Here’s what Mrunal shared during a candid conversation.
Mrunal Thakur says she never got approached for a film where she was the first choice
In an interview with Instant Bollywood, the actress shared that she has worked “really hard” to be where she is now. However, she also added that sometimes one just has to tell themselves, “Don’t give up.” With that mindset, the actress went on working until ‘Love Sonia’ happened. Mrunal shared that after the film, people got to know that “there’s a solid actor here who can perform.”
She further revealed that the role was offered to her after four actresses rejected it. She further added that has always been the pattern. Mrunal said, “I’ve never really gotten a film where I was the first choice.”
What exhausts Mrunal Thakur? Trying to prove herself again and again
In the same interview, Mrunal expressed that after her film ‘Hi Nanna’ worked well at the box office and also received appreciation from all quarters, she was still asked to prove her mettle. She said, “Even after the film did well, I was still being asked to prove myself. It’s exhausting.”
Mrunal Thakur on the definition of success
Mrunal also shared that the film’s success at the box office has become the measure of calling it good or bad. She said, “Is it just a good film, or does it need to make Rs 500 or Rs 1000 crore? That definition of success keeps changing.” However, the actress added that she would never do a film that’s “intolerable.” She said, “I want to hold a record of never giving a bad performance.”
