BHOPAL: A woman alleged that she was drugged with momos and then gang-raped by three men — one of them her husband — before being dumped, bound, and semi-conscious on the Sagar–Kanpur National Highway in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district. The incident took place on September 9, police said.Passersby spotted the woman lying near a railway overbridge with her hands and feet tied and informed Civil Lines police. She was taken to Sagar district hospital, where she regained consciousness and accused her husband and two others of the assault.The woman told police that her husband took her to the market, offered her momos, and that she fainted soon after eating. She alleged that the trio raped her while she was unconscious, kept her captive, and later abandoned her on the roadside. She also warned that if no action was taken, she would end her life and hold the police responsible.Civil Lines police confirmed that a case was registered under gang rape, criminal conspiracy, and wrongful confinement. A search is underway to arrest the accused, they say.Investigators said the woman, married to the suspect since 2014, had previously lodged multiple complaints of rape and assault in Damoh, Badamalhara, Gulganj, and Bijawar police stations.In an earlier case, she accused her village sarpanch and secretary of rape, which was later settled through compromise.
