Lucknow: If you have a strong idea that can bring change in the field of medicine, govt will help you develop it and even bear the cost of getting it patented. This was announced during a workshop on the Patent Mitra Initiative held at Brown Hall of KGMU on Thursday. The event aimed to promote innovation in medical science. Dean of innovation and executive director of the school of international biodesign Prof Rishi Sethi said that KGMU is one of the six biodesign schools in the country. “Our goal is to develop new medical devices through innovation,” he said. The workshop was held under KGMU’s intellectual property policy implemented in 2022. VC Prof Soniya Nityanand inaugurated the workshop and emphasised that innovation can make medical treatment more effective. tnn
