Maya welcomes govt decision on senior care centre | Lucknow News



Lucknow: BSP president Mayawati on Thursday welcomed the state govt’s decision to not construct a senior care centre at Buddha Park in Moradabad.She thanked the govt and said the decision “to construct it somewhere else is a welcome step.” It was on Monday that Mayawati raised an objection to the project and urged the govt stop it immediately. She said in her post on X: “The decision to not construct a senior care centre in Tathagata Gautam Buddha Park located in the famous Manyavar Shri Kanshiram Ji Nagar in Moradabad, which is a popular park of the city and is also a place of faith for the followers of Buddhism and Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and Shri Kanshiram Ji and various sections, especially the Bahujan Samaj, and to construct it elsewhere is a welcome step.“It is hoped that the UP govt will take necessary steps to maintain social peace, mutual harmony, and brotherhood in the state in future as well,” she added. On Aug 31, Mayawati called the proposed construction of Shivalaya Park in Kanpur’s Buddha Park “inappropriate.” Later, the state govt decided to scrap the project on Sept 1. Mayawati then too had welcomed the move.
