Lucknow: Amid Mayawati‘s jibes condemning the Congress for using Dalit leader Kanshi Ram’s name for political gains, UP Congress organised a seminar to discuss the personality and achievements of the BSP supremo’s political guru here on Thursday.Speaking at the seminar, UPCC chief Ajay Rai said: “Kanshi Ram committed his life to the cause of Dalits, the deprived, and the exploited. But Mayawati remembers her leader for political reasons and gains. Why did she not remember him on such a scale in the past few years? It appears that she is acting at the behest of the BJP in the wake of the Bihar elections.” He also said the grand rally ‘was a façade to mislead the Dalit community and play vote politics’. “Today’s show of strength has proved that Mayawati is a real member of BJP and an assistant of RSS,” he said.TNN
