‘Mateen’s poetry is a living legacy’ | Lucknow News
Lucknow: A literary gathering titled ‘Through the Windows of Memories’ was organised to hold a discussion on poetry collection ‘Safina-e-Mateen’ by late Waheeduddin Khan alias Mateen, on Saturday.Hailing from Fatehpur, Mateen was among the most popular students at the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).This literary and cultural session was conducted at Sheroes Hangout.The session was presided over by litterateur Wasif Faruqi. Salma Hijab and poet Ahmed Faraz were also present.The event was organized under the aegis of Aadaab Arz Lucknow.Speakers said the poetry of Mateen was not just a collection of words, but a living literary legacy. They hoped that ‘Safina-e-Mateen’, would carry his legacy forward to future generations.
