Man murdered over witchcraft linked activities | Lucknow News
Lucknow: A 55-year-old man, identified as Basantu Pal, a resident of Haripur village in Sultanpur district, was murdered with a sharp-edged weapon, allegedly in connection with witchcraft-related activities. His body was recovered on Friday evening from bushes near a culvert in Fattupur village, close to Babuganj market in the Sujanganj area of Jaunpur district. According to the family, Pal sustained deep wounds on his neck and abdomen. His elder son Kamlesh Pal told police that two unidentified men visited their home on Thursday evening, took his father along on a motorcycle, and he never returned.Police from both Karaudikala (Sultanpur) and Sujanganj (Jaunpur) are probing the case. The victim’s mobile phone, found near the body, is being examined for call data records (CDR) to trace the suspects. TNN
