LU extends Samarth dataupload deadline to Oct 31 | Lucknow News

Lucknow: Lucknow University (LU) has extended the deadline for uploading first-semester student data on the Samarth portal to Oct 31. However, affiliated colleges are seeking further extension, citing a shortage of non-teaching staff and persistent technical glitches that have slowed the process. The Samarth portal is an e-governance platform for higher education institutions aimed at automating administrative processes. General secretary of the Lucknow University Associated Colleges Teachers’ Association (LUACTA) and principal of Khun Khun Ji Girls’ Degree College, Anshu Kedia, said, “There is an acute shortage of non-teaching staff in most affiliated colleges. The volume of student data is enormous, and completing it accurately requires more staff and time. Many colleges have only a few clerks managing hundreds of entries, making it practically impossible to meet the given deadline. LU should understand the ground realities. Extending the deadline by at least 15 to 20 days will ensure that the process is smooth and error-free.”LUACTA president Manoj Pandey said, “LU have adequate technical and non-teaching support to upload data. Unfortunately, affiliated colleges do not have the same resources. Moreover, the Samarth portal itself has several technical glitches affecting both student data entry and teacher promotions. Many teachers have been unable to apply for promotions for months due to system errors. The university must address these issues at the earliest to avoid further administrative delays.” Meanwhile, registrar Bhavana Mishra said, “The deadline for student data feeding has already been extended to Oct 31. Further decisions will be taken based on how the situation develops and the feedback we receive from the colleges.”
