KMCLU to start MTech, geography courses, 2 medals

Lucknow: Beginning next academic session, Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University will introduce two new academic programmes, MTech (structural engineering) course in department of civil engineering and a one-year self-financed diploma in geography. The decisions were taken during the academic council meeting held on Tuesday. The council also approved two new gold medals, the Dori Lal Sagar Memorial Gold Medal in Sociology (undergraduate) and Rampati Devi Gold Medal in History (postgraduate) and toppers of all language courses will receive Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti gold medals. These will be presented at the upcoming 14th Convocation to recognise and encourage meritorious students. Vice Chancellor Prof Ajay Taneja said, “Our goal is to continually expand academic horizon of the university. Introduction of new programmes and medals not only strengthens our academic structure but also motivates our students to strive for excellence and innovation.”The meeting noted that 31 research scholars would be receiving degree in the forthcoming convocation, reflecting the university’s expanding research ecosystem. Department of commerce will soon launch value added courses through SWAYAM, enabling flexible and skill-oriented learning. Law Faculty’s moot court hall has been renamed Dr B R Ambedkar Memorial Moot Court Hall, and Arabic department’s library will now be known as the Dr Anees Ansari Library. The council also approved formation of an advisory committee for the Awadhi Research Chair and curriculum revisions under NEP-2020.
