India-Pak match insult to Pahalgam victims, says Shubham’s wife | Lucknow News
Kanpur: The family of Pahalgam terror attack victim Shubham Dwivedi Saturday said India’s scheduled Asia Cup match against Pakistan on Sunday is an insult to those killed in the Baisaran Valley on April 22.Shubham’s wife, Aishanya, said, “BCCI has forgotten my husband’s sacrifice in just a few months. The board seems to lack empathy for the 26 Pahalgam victims and the soldiers martyred during Operation Sindoor. Perhaps it’s because no one from their own families was affected.”She added, “Where are our cricketers? It’s often said that cricketers have a sense of nationality. However, except for one or two, no one has come forward to say we shouldn’t play against Pakistan. Cricketers should have taken a stand here. BCCI doesn’t have the authority to force you to play against Pakistan.”Shubham’s father, Sanjay Dwivedi, said playing cricket with a country whose terrorists shot their son after asking his religion was unfortunate. His uncle, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, urged all citizens to boycott the match.
