‘He threatened to kill me’: Staffer alleges rape by manager at West Bengal hospital | Kolkata News
PANSKURA: A female contractual worker at Panskura Super Specialty Hospital in East Midnapore was raped by a facility manager employed by a private company, police said on Monday.She alleged, “He was constantly pressuring me for a physical relationship and threatened to kill me if I told anyone. I informed the higher-ups in my organisation about this. Yesterday, the facility manager asked me to bring some things. When I went to the room, he pounced on me and physically assaulted me. Later, I informed the hospital superintendent about this.” According to sources, the survivor worked at the hospital through a private organisation for several years.Locals erupted in protest in the hospital premises after the news of the incident came to light.A senior police officer said, “Investigation has started and the survivor’s statement has been recorded. Her medico-legal examination is also being conducted.”(The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
