Guv presides over Kanya pujan celebration at Raj Bhawan | Lucknow News



Lucknow: Governor Anandiben Patel and general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerthkshetra Trust Champat Rai took part in a Kanya Pujan event organised by Prerna Parivar at Raj Bhawan on Thursday. As many as 5100 girls from 251 villages were welcomed with tilak and chunri (scarf). They were given a plate of food offerings and pen, notebooks and books as gifts. An HPV vaccination of around 100 girls was also done on the occasion. Patel said, “Educating, empowering, inculcating good values and protecting their health is the greatest need of the day.” “Girls are the embodiment of goddess Durga. The Kanya Pujan has made Raj Bhawan a unique place where programmes dedicated to Indian traditions are witnessed,” Rai said. Kshetra Pracharak of RSS Anil, women’ s commission vice chairperson Aparna Yadav, state information commissioner PN Diwedi were alsso present. TNN
