Gkp-Pilibhit Exp extended till Bareilly | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw along with Union minister of state Jitin Prasada on Thursday virtually flagged off the extension of the Gorakhpur-Pilibhit Express up to Izzatnagar (Bareilly) from Rail Bhawan in New Delhi.The train, which originally ran between Lakhimpur and Gorakhpur, was extended to Pilibhit a few months ago and will now connect Bareilly, strengthening rail connectivity across Uttar Pradesh’s Terai region. The extension is expected to deliver significant benefits, including improved market access for agricultural and forest produce, enhanced mobility for residents and accelerated socio-economic development. It will also promote tourism and create employment opportunities in the region. Vaishnaw said: “5,272 km of new tracks have been laidsince 2014.”
