Four years jail to ex-principal of KV in bribery case | Lucknow News
Lucknow: A special Central Bureau of Investigation court in Lucknow has sentenced a former principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Kanpur to four years rigorous jail after convicting him for accepting bribe. The court also slapped a fine of Rs one lakh on the convict Tasudduque Khan, a former principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya–I, Air Force Station in Kanpur’s Chakeri.The judgment was pronounced on Dec 12 while the case details were officially released on Dec 13.CBI had registered a case against Khan in Aug 2016, following a complaint lodged by the proprietor of a Kanpur-based private company. The complainant alleged that Khan had demanded a bribe of Rs 51,000 and later agreed to accept Rs 25,000 as illegal gratification.The bribe was allegedly sought to clear the dues of Rs 1,73,430 for the complainant’s firm, and for ensuring that the school canteen operated by the firm was allowed to function smoothly in the future.Following an investigation, CBI filed a chargesheet on Sept 30, 2016, against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
