Focus On Smart Med Facilities For Poor | Lucknow News
The newly built state-of-the-art 200-bed multi-specialty Smart City Hospital in Jhansi is proving to be a boon for the economically weaker sections who are receiving corporate hospital-like facilities at subsidised govt rates. Located near the RTO office, this project has been developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model between Jhansi Smart City and Azael Healthcare Limited and caters to the Bundelkhand region. It aims to provide affordable and accessible medical care to the masses of the region. The hospital was inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. While inaugurating, he reaffirmed the govt’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services, particularly in Bundelkhand region. He also emphasised that such initiatives are essential in bridging the healthcare gap and ensuring that people from all socio-economic backgrounds receive timely medical attention. It was awarded as the best PPP project in all the hundred smart cities across the country in a programme hosted jointly by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and Indian Trade Promotion in March. Advanced medical facilities, affordable healthcare Equipped with cutting-edge medical technology, the hospital offers a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including advanced diagnostic tools and specialised treatment facilities. It houses 50 ICU beds to cater to critically ill patients. The hospital has also established tie-ups with reputed hospitals in Delhi-NCR to facilitate the referral and treatment of critical cases, ensuring patients receive advanced medical care when needed. To make healthcare more accessible, the hospital has adopted a cost-effective pricing model, with diagnostic services for select tests being offered at CGHS rates. Tech-driven healthcare and wider outreach The hospital also offers IT-based solutions, including telemedicine and remote consultations, enabling patients from remote areas to consult with experts without the need for frequent travel. This initiative significantly benefits residents of Bundelkhand’s rural and semi-urban areas, where access to quality healthcare has been a longstanding challenge. In addition to the main hospital, the project includes a central hub and four collection centres, expanding the reach of diagnostic services across a wider geographical area. This decentralised approach ensures that more people can benefit from timely and accurate medical diagnostics without having to travel long distances. Azael company director Ashish Bhattacharya said presently 32 specialists are looking after all the medical specialties in the hospital, barring a couple of fields, including oncology. He further said the hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art machines for treatment as well as for pathological investigations. The hospital’s seven collection points across the city are further helping people by reducing their travel time. Municipal commissioner and CEO of Jhansi Smart City, Satya Prakash, said: “The hospital is a boon for those who cannot afford specialised treatment. We have integrated it with the Ayushman card, and soon ESIC cardholders will also get the privilege of cashless treatment.”
