Ex-MLA kin found dead in Gomtinagar | Lucknow News

Lucknow: The body of Atul Kumar Tiwari, a 42-year-old nephew of a former BJP MLA from Raniganj, was found under suspicious circumstances at his residence in Gomtinagar on Tuesday with multiple wounds on his wrists, police said. The body was found on the first floor of the house by his mother, Sudha, who lives on the ground floor after she noticed a foul smell coming from his room. She immediately contacted her daughter, Geetika, who resides in Delhi, as well as the local police. Inspector B C Tiwari from Gomtinagar police station said the body has been sent for postmortem. ACP Brij Narayan Singh said the cut wounds on Atul’s wrists suggest a possible suicide, but the police are exploring all possibilities. Atul lived with his mother in the Viram Khand area. His uncle, Abhay Kumar, a former BJP MLA from Raniganj, mentioned that Atul was troubled since his father’s sometime back, which may have contributed to his distress. TNN
