Lucknow: A grand “Sardar @150 Ekta Yatra” was organised in Sarojininagar to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The 2.5 km march began from Scooter India Crossing and concluded at Sainik Inter College Ground, drawing participation from locals, traders, social groups and BJP workers.The atmosphere reverberated with patriotic fervour as participants carried the tricolour, sang national songs and raised slogans inspired by Patel’s ideals. The march was led by MLA Rajeshwar Singh, with the presence of BJP state general secretary Sanjay Rai, Lucknow district president Vijay Maurya and BJP Mahanagar president Anand Dwivedi. Singh said Patel’s unification of 562 princely states continues to guide India’s youth. He described Hyderabad’s accession as a defining moment, highlighting how Patel’s resolve ensured its merger without firing a single shot. Singh also recalled Patel’s role in establishing the Indian Civil Services, calling them the nation’s “steel frame.” Singh said India faces increasing cyber, social, and border threats and the responsibility of building Viksit Bharat @2047 lies on young shoulders.
